UPLoad 2011: New Ventures With Fast Fibre

Last week about 60 of us got together to think about new business ideas based on fast broadband. Maybe that prompted the Government to finally make its major UFB announcement! (just joking)

Lance Wiggs got us off to a good start. Then Rohan MacMahon of Crown Fibre Holdings told us about all the wonderful things we’re going to be getting from UFB. Finally, I chipped in with 5 business ideas to get the creative juices flowing.

Then came the serious bit, pizza. And some talking, arguing, creative leaps and thinking. People got to toss around ideas to come up with the ones that best met Lance’s Value vs. Ease evaluation framework.

There were of course winners. Everyone. There were also two ideas that were in the top right quadrant of high value and high ease. One was around a personal medical alarm and the other around next generation home security. Seriously good ways to use ultra fast broadband.

Even better, for those of you who feel you missed out, we’re going to do this again. At NetHui 2011.
