Members mailing lists

There are three members mailing lists and one newsletter option.

Members-Announce

Purpose: Only for important member announcements

Frequency: Relatively low

Options: All members are compulsorily subscribed at the time of becoming a member

To post: Only the InternetNZ President and some staff can post to this list

Acceptable Use Policy:

The Members Announce Mailing List is a closed mailing list created for the sole purpose of announcements and news from the InternetNZ President and limited staff members to members-announce subscribers.

No-one other than the InternetNZ President and some staff can post to the list.

Membership of the list is only InternetNZ members.

Membership of this list is private and email addresses are not available for retrieval (i.e., ‘who’ look-ups are not available)

Members-Discuss

Purpose: Matters related to InternetNZ members and membership

Frequency: Daily volume varies between zero to a few. As an example, October 2010 was a typical month with 21 subject posts.

Options: To subscribe, unsubscribe, set options (e.g. digest instead of individual emails), and password reminder go to mailman.internetnz.net.nz/mailman/listinfo/members-discuss

To post: To start a new topic, email to members-discuss@mailman.internetnz.net.nz. To continue discussion on an existing topic, reply to the email.

Acceptable Use Policy:

The Members Mailing List is a closed mailing list created for the sole use the membership of InternetNZ.

List members are reminded that everyone is busy in their own [paid] occupations and therefore appreciates brevity in postings. Please delete any unnecessary parts of previous emails which you are responding to.

In order for all list members to feel able to fully participate in discussions, posts to this mailing list are confidential to members. You must obtain prior permission from the posting member(s) before quoting the content of the post or the identity of the posting member(s) outside this list.

Cross-posting - the sending of the same email message to more than one list at the same time (e.g. using the cc line) - is not allowed.

No personal attacks are acceptable and issues will be addressed purely on their merits.

Any list member who has a personal issue with another list member may ask the President of InternetNZ to mediate president@internetnz.net.nz; failing that they will conduct relevant correspondence privately off list.

Some information which the Council, its Officers, or the Chief Executive posts to the list may be marked as Confidential – subscription to this list is taken as an agreement to honour Confidentiality.

Abuse of any type will result in action being taken by the list owners which may include removal of offenders from the list.

Membership of this list is private and email addresses are not available for retrieval (i.e., ‘who’ look-ups are not available).

PAG (Policy Advisory Group)
